THE mangled wreckage from deadly head-on collisions is usually what lands South Africa's notoriously aggressive minibus taxis in the headlines, an image some drivers are working to change.

Following the competition, the police should set up a national telephone hotline, so that people like other road users and passangers are able to phone in or comment via sms....and then statistical records can be kept of complaints....

Taxi owners can access this information as well. When charging a driver for an offence, the police can also see what kind of profile the driver has...and take this into accont

These taxis must have telephone numbers of their respective offices where people can raise their consenses.
They must be taught simple and difficult manners.
Their vehicles must be inspected every three month period.
They must be interviewed before they can drive taxis.
