Another real stinker
The DA's open secret at Khayelitsha caused halitosis when it made headlines. And so too does the ANC's toilets in the Free State
LIKE the DA's in Cape Town the ANC's open toilets in Viljoenskroon stink.
We know that DA leader Helen Zille would never relieve herself in an open toilet.
We can't imagine ANC executive Lindiwe Sisulu doing it either.
We repeat that the DA's open secret at Khayelitsha caused halitosis when it made headlines. And so too does the ANC's toilets in the Free State.
It is a serious indictment of our politicians. Our so-called leaders get away with murder.
The ANC was moved to stop the pollution in Khayelitsha but in spite of the Human Rights Commission's scathing ruling against the DA they still show how detached they are from the people of Rammulotsi.
The less said about the "we did not know" comment by ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu the better. For God's sake, the eyesores were erected by ANC councillors in 2004.
It is not surprising that the executive mayor could not even comment, referring questions to service manager Mike Lelaka. The latter had the gall to tell the Sunday Times that they did not have the money to enclose those stinkers.
Really, Mr Lelaka? You could not raise R7 million over seven years? Tell it to the birds.
Those things are dehumanising. They literally strip whoever is using them of human dignity.
Remember, so infuriated was the ruling party that the ANC Youth League threatened to sue the Cape Town city council on behalf of the residents.
Like the DA, the ANC has surely been hoist with the petard of its own impetuosity.

There's a saying 'Don't throw stones from a glass house'. I understand that there are many more ANC run townships with unenclosed toilets! Well the ANC's hypocritical colours are being demonstrated."These toilets were installed by Apartheid govt"says Mal-emma, so blame it on apartheid.Report Abuse

I cannot believ this is what our countries politics comes down to - TOILETS.How childish and pathetic. Who the hell would build toilets and NOT enclose them. And in what sort of place other than SA would it become a political issue? What a joke our politics are.
DA and ANC shame on you! As I've said from the beginning can't trust ANY politicians. You crooked bastards. Don't vote.

also remeber the DA didn't enclose the toilets, after discussions with the commnuiy, they agreeed to it.The DA will build each household 1 toilet, intstead of the national ANC standard of 1 communal toilet to 4 households, and then the community will then enlcose themselves. The community agreed and almost all the toilets were enclosed, +- 1200 enclosed and 50 not enclosed. After the outrage about the 50 toiletes not enclosed, the municpilaty then anknowledge theri mistake and then enclosed them, only to have the ANCYL come break them down. Those same ANCYL kids have their own fancy toilets and houses. But they had now problem kicking down soem poor peoeples toilets so that the can score political points. Teh DA should have made a better plan, but all they really wanted to do the best for the people, and for thanks they are made to be the enemy.
In start contrast, these ANC open toiletes were never discussed with the community. built at ANC crony tender prices. People we must wake up, the ANC only uses us to get the votes, will tell us lies, but I say. ANC no longer !

Lindiwe Mazibuko - "When the ANC complained to the Human Rights Commission about the toilets in Makhaza, Khayelitsha early last year, their report was finalised and released to the media within about three months. It is now seven months since the complaint was laid with the Human Rights Commission about the ANC's open toilets in Moqhaka, Free State.
I will be making contact with Advocate Lawrence Mushwana on Thursday this week if the Human Rights Commission's report has not been released by then. I will want to know why this is the case, and why the two complaints have been handled differently by the Commission."

@IceQueenstrange that you say that, it is the ANCYL that call Helen Zille a monkey. We must get awat from the Apartheid mentally to decide peoples character by the colour of their skin. The DA has both white, black, Indian and coloured leadership, but that doesn't matter, what matters is what they deliver.
The ANC will make ALL FUTURE election about race, it is because they are still stuck in apartheid. their hearts are so full of hate that it blinds them. BUT don't be blinded, read up what Lindiwe Mazibuko says. She is one of the top future leaders of the DA, and hopefully of this country.
APARTHEID was about race. If you support Apartheid you will make everything about RACE, and that is unfortanently what the ANC has become. ANC no longer !
