Online banking at Standard Bank to go offline on Sunday

South Africans will not be able to access Standard Bank’s banking app‚ Internet banking‚ and cellphone banking on Sunday night‚ the bank says in a customer advisory.

Online card transactions will also be offline and no cash deposits will be accepted at ATMs from 10pm on Sunday night to 2am on Monday‚ 25 May.

This is due to system maintenance.

Funeka Montjane‚ Standard Bank’s Chief Executive: Personal and Business Banking‚ South Africa said in a statement: “We understand the frustration and impact to customers that disruptions to services have and apologise in advance for the inconvenience. We ask customers to please bear with us during this time as we work on upgrading our banking facilities with the aim of delivering improved services”.

Customers will be able to make cash withdrawals at ATMs and use their debit‚ cheque or credit cards to make payments.
