Phakamile Mzimela motivating his way to the top

Young entrepreneur, Phakamile Mzimela is gunning for economic freedom through creating opportunities.

After matriculating two years ago he tried to be another youth who aims for higher education to earn a degree and get a job but it was not his aspirations.

A 9am to 5pm job after university is something contrary to the life he wanted to live.

The 20-year-old Tembisa youngster is a life coach and trainer, doing motivational speaking and living off encouraging other young people to be dream chasers.

“I was chasing freedom; I felt I could not get it through University. I wanted a job where I do what I love and wake up passionate to tackle everyday,” he says.

“I studied Psychology at the University of Johannesburg but I dropped out, tried again at University of Pretoria but ended up postponing again,” Mzimela says.

The young life coach says DJ Sbu has been an incredible mentor in his overturning success within a year.

“I met DJ Sbu at Metro FM, I was an uninvited guest. I had the desire to meet him because he was doing great things. I invaded his show, introduced myself and from there he has been with me”, Mzimela says.

“His influence on me has been absolutely crazy. I had a small dream and he saw my vision bigger.  I have only known him for a year and I have seen how possible things are,” he says.

On a day to day Mzimela spends his life speaking at corporate gigs, training and coaching people.

Mzimela is also one of the motivational guest speakers at DJ Sbu’s 2020 leadership Sunday Circles that take place weekly.

He says it’s a platform for growth, learning and opportunities.

“It’s a place where people get insight about the life they dream of and how they can achieve those goals.”

“At Sunday Circles there is no ego driven people, no pride and no status. It’s a space where you are given a chance to complete your dreams.”

This weekend’s Sunday Circle session hosted by Metro FM DJ Sbu at Montecasino will have guest speakers such as Bonang Matheba, Destiny Man Magazine editor Kojo Baffoe and Comedian Trevor Gumbi who will be there to share success stories as well as educate and inform.
